| | New Provider Joins Shell Rock Clinic |
| |
Jon Hennings, advanced registered nurse practitioner, will join Shell Rock Clinic and begin seeing patients August 2. Jon will work with Dr. Roger Skierka to provide care for area residents.
Nurse practitioners are advanced practice nurses who have education and training beyond what is required of a registered nurse. In addition to diagnosing and managing acute and chronic illness, nurse practitioners place a strong emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention. Jon received his bachelor of science and master of science in nursing degrees from Allen College.
Jon is excited to join the Shell Rock Clinic team. “It has been my goal since starting nurse practitioner school to work with Dr. Skierka,” said Jon. “I am pleased to now get the added benefit of working with the Waverly Health Center staff.”
Waverly Health Center began operating Shell Rock Clinic July 1. Formally known as Shell Rock Family Health, the clinic provides family practice services to the residents of Shell Rock and surrounding communities. For more information, call (319) 885-6530.
