| Accounting: |
| | Accounting is responsible for the general ledger, accounts payable, payroll and industrial billing. |

| Administration: |
| | Administrative support services focus on the day-to-day details that help the hospital run in an effective and efficient manner. Some of their responsibilities include managing the content on the website and intranet, coordinating Board of Trustees activities, credentialing of the Medical Staff, guiding policies through the approval process, and maintaining schedules for the various conference rooms and specialty clinics.
The Chief Executive Officer focuses on implementation of the strategic plan for Waverly Health Center. This includes budgeting tme and resources in order to assure that we are achieving our mission. He is the nexus of the hospital's relationship with with the community, the Board of Trustees and the Medical Staff.
The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for several support departments, outpatient services, contracted services, and health system clinics and medical providers. She also oversees Medical Staff relations and issues, participates in strategic and business planning, and can act on behalf of the CEO in his absence.
The Chief Financial Officer handles the finances of the hospital, prepares the financial reports and coordinates all auditing processes. She also oversees the Business Office, Health Information Management, Materials Management and Accounting.
The Chief Nursing Officer oversees the nursing care provided at WHC. She keeps up-to-date on national regulations and policies and ensures the staff maintains high standards for patient care. |

| Ambulance: |
| | The WHC Ambulance Service is staffed with paramedics providing the highest level of pre-hospital care in emergency and non-emergency transfer. The department also serves as a resource for surrounding area first responders and ambulance services. |

| Birthing Center: |
| | The Birthing Center provides a family-centered approach to the birthing process. Features include large, private rooms, whirlpool bathtubs, birthing room, father, sibling and grandparent contact with the new baby, and prenatal, breastfeeding and sibling classes. |

| Business Office: |
| | The Business Office provides hospital-wide registration and billing services as well as financial assistance to qualified patients. Maintains the hospital charge master, enters patient charges and receipts all insurance and patient payments. |
 |
| Cardiac Rehabilitation: |
| | WHC's Cardiac Rehab is a supervised outpatient program that includes exercise, life-style changes, education and emotional support for people who have had a heart attack, bypass surgery or other heart problems. This program is medicall supervised and individually designed to enhance the patient's quality of life. |

| Cardiovascular Services: |
| | Cardiovascular Services provides diagnostic studies on the heart and blood vessels through ultrasound and physiologic studies. |

| Education |
| | The education department evaluates the organization’s training needs and develops and facilitates programs for staff training and competency assessment to support quality and positive patient and service outcomes. It also collaborates with others to develop and provide patient and community education. |

| ENT Clinic: |
| | Dr. Bell and Janel Thompson, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, provide full-time Ear, Nose and Throat specialty care for patients of all ages. The practice provides surgery in addition to diagnostic audiometric testing and minor office procedures. |

| General Surgery & Women's Clinic: |
| | The General Surgery Clinic provides a variety of surgical procedures including endoscopy, colonoscopy and laparoscopic procedures including hernia repairs, gallbladder, colon resections and appendectomies. The clinic also offers a number of services related to breat treatment including stereotactic biopsy, excisional biopsy and ultrasound.
The Women's Clinic provides obstetric, gynecology and urogynecology services including normal and high-risk pregnancy, preconceptual counseling, amniocentesis, well-woman care, infertility, gynecologic needs from adolescence through menopause, and gynecologic surgery including laparoscopic procedures, endometrial ablation, hysterectomy, pelvic floor reconstruction for incontinence and other pelvic disorders.
Both the Women's Clinic and the General Surgery Clinic provide endometrial ablation, hysterectomy, C-section and rectocele and cystocele repairs. |

| Emergency Department: |
| | The Emergency Department is staffed with specially trained registered nurses 24 hours a day. Emergency Room physicians provide 24 hour in-house coverage. |

| Environmental Services: |
| | Environmental Services cleans and provides floor care in all areas in addition to maintaining the grounds. This department also manages the city recycle bio-waste program and sharps program, and provides a courier service to hospitals with deliveries or pick-ups for Lab, Radiology, Surgery, and Pharmacy, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. |

| Fund Development: |
| | WHC's Foundation solicits, administers and disburses financial support from the general public in support of the Waverly Health Center and its mission to provide the highest quality, patient-focused health care. |

| Health Information Management: |
| | Health Information Management technicians maintain a medical record for each patient treated in the hospital. This information serves as a basis for communication between the physician and other contributing professionals, as well as enabling proper filing of insurance claims. |
 |
| Health Promotion: |
| | Health Promotion offers a variety of fitness activities including exercise classes, treadmills, stationary bicycles, stairclimber, universal weight equipment, a therapeutic swimming pool, body composition testing, personalized training programs and infant swimming classes. |
 |
| Home & Community Health: |
| | Home & Community Health professionals bring nursing care, rehabilitative services and personal care services into the home. Our Alternative Care program provides personal care, companionship, errands, light housekeeping, meal preparation and respite care. This department also provides various community health services, including flu and pneumonia clinics, blood pressure screening, adult hepatitis B immunizations, tobacco cessation and prevention programs, childhood lead poisoning screening and follow-up, child health services, Care for Kids information and care coordination, the Family Nest Project, car seat safety assessments and installations, Hawk-I assistance and Community Health Outreach Network, a partnership of health care providers with area schools. |

| Human Resources: |
| | The Human Resources department is responsible for the hiring process - advertising, screening applications, first day and general orientations for all new employees. In addition, Human Resources coordinates the processes related to leaves of absence, transfers and promotions, performance evaluations, and employee relations. |

| Infection Control, Occupational Health and Employee Health: |
| | Infection Control is responsible for establishing WHC policy and providing education on prevention of infections in staff, visitors, and patients. Employee Health coordinates employee health assessments, provides vaccinations and periodic tests to new and current WHC staff. The Occupational Health Dept. manages WHC worker’s compensation issues, follows up on local company injuries and coordinates an occupational health clinic staffed by Dr. Kenneth McMains. |

| Information Systems: |
| | Information Systems is responsible for maintaining the computers and network systems within the hospital. Information Systems sets up and updates computer equipment and keeps the information networks running smoothly. |
 |
| Insurance: |
| | Insurance processes all medical claims to third party payors for all inpatients and outpatients including therapy. They also analyze accounts that need special attention or need to be filed manually and follow-up on all accounts that are not paid within 30-45 days. |
 |
| Laboratory: |
| | Laboratory offers a full range of services including Hematology, Bacteriology, Clinical chemistry, Blood banking, Coagulation, and therapeutic drug monitoring. Laboratory staff also provide blood collection and specimen testing, as well as health screenings, for nursing homes, schools, and businesses in the community. |

| Marketing & Communications: |
| | Marketing and Communications distributes information about WHC internally and externally through various publications and other means. Marketing & Communications also plans special events, coordinates patient satisfaction surveys and ensures WHC’s logo and image maintain high standards. |
 |
| Materials Management: |
| | Materials Management provides supplies to all departments in the Center in the most efficient manner possible. We are responsible for ensuring that all purchases of materials and equipment are centrally controlled and that the best price has been achieved. |
 |
| Medical/Surgical: |
| | Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, and unit coordinators provide nursing care services around the clock to patients with a medical or surgical diagnosis, and requiring acute or skilled level of care. |
 |
| Nutrition Services: |
| | Nutrition Services provides the food and beverages for all patients, staff, visitors and special events with a focus on healthy eating and treatment of health conditions. |
 |
| Nutrition Therapy: |
| | A registered, licensed dietitian conducts nutrition assessments on hospital inpatients and provides medical nutrition therapy consultation to outpatients upon referral from a physician. Nutrition Therapy also provides education on all nutrition-related topics to patients, staff, community groups and in any setting where nutrition is an important component. |

| Occupational Therapy: |
| | A licensed occupational therapist treats patients of all ages with physical, mental/cognitive, perceptual or developmental disabilities to achieve a maximum level of independent living. |
 |
| Pharmacy: |
| | Pharmacy monitors medication for appropriateness to each patient’s condition, dispenses medication to hospital patients and serves as a drug information resource. |
 |
| Physical Therapy: |
| | Physical therapy offers a full range of treatments to help relieve pain and improve mobility. The department features use of the hospital’s therapeutic swimming pool. Therapists fit patients for special supports and equipment and prescribe exercise programs. |
 |
| Plant Services: |
| | Plant Services maintains and updates the facility's mechanical equipment. |
 |
| Quality Services: |
| | Quality Services conducts data collection and presents the data for benchmarking with other hospitals. Quality Services also is responsible for Medical Staff surveys and, as a member of the PAC committee, conducts Peer Reviews. As Risk Manager, she also reviews all occurrence activity and is responsible for health center accreditation and credentialing/privileging services for Medical Staff. |

| Radiology: |
| | Radiology is staffed with registered radiologic technologists who perform a full range of x-ray and diagnostic imaging procedures including ultrasound, MRI, Bone Density, CT scans and a fully accredited mammography unit. |
 |
| Respiratory Therapy: |
| | Respiratory therapy provides electrocardiograms (EKG), electroencephalography (EEG), arterial blood gas tests (ABG), respiratory treatment, stress testing, pulmonary function screening and education for all ages. |
 |
| Social Services: |
| | Social services staff provide supportive counseling, hospital discharge planning, and serve as a resource for information on services available in the community. |
 |
| Speech Therapy: |
| | Speech-Language Pathologists evaluate and treat children and adults who have communication or swallowing disorders. Services are offered as inpatients, outpatients, or in conjunction with Home and Community Health. |
 |
| Surgery Complex: |
| | Surgical department procedures include general surgery, gynecology, urological, dental, laparoscopic, eye, podiatry, orthopedic, ENT, and endoscopy procedures including gastroscopy, colonoscopy and bronchoscopy. |
 |
| Utilization Review: |
| | The Utilization Review department coordinates the activities of the Utilization Review program to provide for appropriate and timely use of hospital services. |
 |
| Volunteer Services: |
| | The Volunteer Services department works closely with the Auxiliary to meet the volunteer needs of Waverly Health Center. A variety of volunteer opportunities are available to those who desire to support our patients and staff. The Auxiliary also provides many opportunities for volunteering and fundraising throughout the year. |
 |
